    Beer Stein
    Garmisch Coat of Arms (Crest) "Garmisch"
    Ceramic stein
    4-1/2" tall, 3-15/16" diameter base, 3-1/4" diameter at the rim.
    Moulded "1/2
    " at the top near the handle and marked "HANDPAINTED A. WILHELM Made in
    Germany
    " on the bottom.
    The stein is in very good condition
    but it is uniformly covered in crazing as evidence of it's age.
    The gold rings around the top and bottom are still bright and shiny.
    Used as a display item only.
    No chips or cracks except noted crazing. Crazing is shown in photos so you can see how this adds to the interest of this stein. The top of the handle has a small indented hole. I'm told this was to post a small flag to alert the barmaid that a patron was ready for a refill.

    In the mid-1960s my dad's company sent him to work in Germany for a few years.  The family spent a couple of years there before returning to the States.  We traveled extensively visiting many countries, seeing the local sights, attending events, and experiencing the different cultures.  My dad enjoyed visiting different food and drink events and establishments.  This was one of the items he brought back from Europe.
