Vintage Brass and Abalone Trinket Box w Wood interior - Great Quality and Detail.
This listing is for a Vintage Taxco Mexico Abalone Brass and Rosewood Hinged Box.
A heavy piece, the top and sides are pieces of abalone inlaid in brass and framed in brass.
Measures approximately 7.5 x 4 x 1 inches.
The inside box part is framed in rosewood. Bottom is brass with corner brass feet.
I believe it dates back to the mid 1950’s and was actually a cigarette box.
In overall very good vintage condition.
Abalone is excellent - no chips, cracks or repairs that I can see.
Brass has darkened, needs a cleaning (which I did not attempt).
The wood edge inside has some residue on it, could be brass cleaner.
