    Description

    China Seal "Chop"--Soapstone Carved Monkey-in Box, With Etching to Stone & Paste
    This I believe was a souvenir obtain at the Great Wall of China in 2003. The old traditional Chinese Seal Scrip character spells out,
    I believe, something like "Tall or Big Mountain," perhaps even "Great Wall." It comes with red paste which is partly used. It has to sides of the
    base with etch Chinese characters--poems or wise sayings? Plus a side of the base with an etched illustration of the Great Wall; and another side
    with a character etched within a circle. I believe the top of the box is silk. On the paste box, besides the Chinese characters, is written "Zhuhong Yinni",
    the maker of this item (?)
    Box measures 5 x 4 7/8 inches and is 1 3/4 inches tall. Chop is 4 inches tall and just over 1 1/8 inch square.
