You are looking at a Very Unique Piece that has a real story to go with it.First off you are looking at a Picture frame done in a Platinum finish to commemorate Charlie Sanders of the Detroit Lions Induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This piece has been signed by Charlie in black sharpie. I give a lifetime guarantee to the signature being authentic as this is something that cann't be reproduced.
The history behind this piece is that it was created, designed and made by Charlie himself.
Having done many signings and shows with Charlie I can detest that he was a true businessman with a mind for creating things and marketing them.
Back in the mid 70's Charlie wrote a poem that if you read it today , your eyes will swell if you are a Detroit Lions or Charlie Sanders fan. The poem was called NFL Just Passing Through. When Charlie created this frame piece he had the poem mounted behind the glass. On the right side is his induction date, Hall of Fame Logo and he has Signed the piece. The frame is a tad under 6 1/2 inches square and has a felt backing with attached easel. There are a couple flaws in the finish of which I tried to show in the scans. The piece has not been roughed up as all I ever saw had some sort of flaw about them. He had them produced in China and I'll leave it at that. Not mas produced as it started out just being a test to see how well it would sell. The real true value here is in the poem that he has left behind for us all to see the emotion that made this man a superstar Tight end for the Detroit Lions. Anyone who ever watched him play will surely say he always gave it his all every play. Here is the poem:
NFL
(Just Passing Through)
Here today, Gone tomorrow,
if you don't accept it, it's a life of sorrow.
Trying to use Our God given talent,
being brave like the knight,
bold and gallant.
Those who can make it feel lucky indeed,
it's Gods own way of letting you succeed.
Our efforts we extend in hopes to win,
some play with their hearts,
others just pretend.
So give your all and nothing less,
today we win, tomorrow we rest.
You're not just a teammate,
but my very Best friend,
let's play together until the end.
Today we will hang together,
just you and me, for tomorrow
is a day we may never see.
Charlie Sanders

Having known Charlie I can honestly say that I'm so glad he was actually around to see his induction and leave us with these words that truly tell the story of how he felt about the game of football and all the players he played with. And how he left us with the memories he created in our minds and on the high lite films that will exist for ever.
