    Description

Up for bid is a wonderful vintage Valentine postcard. This card features a colorful lithographic illustration of a young boy celebrating after receiving a Valentine. When you supersize image 1 you will better see the wonderful details on this card. Notice that he is sitting on the branch of a tree loaded with lovely blossoms. The colors are very vivid and the artistry is just great! I highly suspect that Frances Brundage is the artist of this illustration, as the wavy hair, rosy cheeks and vivid red lips of the boy all reflect her style. "Frances Isabelle Lockwood Brundage (1854–1937) was an American illustrator best known for her depictions of attractive and endearing children on postcards, valentines, calendars, and other ephemera published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Samuel Gabriel Company, and Saalfield Publishing." SOURCE: Wikipedia Printed in pre-WWI Germany, and published by Raphael Tuck & Sons (one of Brundage's favorite publishers), this beautifully embossed card has not been postally used and has handwriting on its divided back. Here is a wonderful vintage card that is desirable in so many ways. Some lucky bidder will add it to their Brundage, Tuck or Valentine postcard collection. Will it be you?!
